This doll is very special to me, this was my very first costume doll. My collection escalated from then on. This doll was given to me by my dad when i was a little girl in the early 80's. It was from then on he would bring me back a doll from each trip he took. This particular doll my dad bought for my mom in 1968 while vacationing in Spain

Cillacraft Doll by Priscilla Arnold

This is a "Cillacraft" doll, by Priscilla Arnold of Aberystwyth, in mid-Wales. Most of them are from the 1970s and 1980s, and they usually wear regional costumes of Wales. Her husband John was a well-known maker of wooden love-spoons, and eventually she had to hand over her doll business to friends, to help her husband with his spoons. The 20cm dolls were sold with a little card label, with a description on, but people would often take this off, to display them.
